About the Lessons

Masumi Urakami founded Piano Studio Masumi to offer beginner to advanced students a systematic approach to piano instruction and emphasis on music fundamentals such as interpretation, technique, rhythmic training, and sight reading. She teaches the art of piano through motivation, encouragement and enjoyable interaction.

Piano Studio Masumi specializes in piano instruction. Students progress according to their level. Beginners will concentrate on basic techniques and sight reading. Intermediate students will study interpretation, tonality, and more challenging material. Advanced students will be encouraged to attend classical concerts to broaden their understanding in playing styles, interpretation, rhythm control, and more complex techniques .

Studies have shown that students who have musical aptitude score higher in standardized tests. Through the process of learning to play the piano and perform, students develop self-confidence and motivation. This enrichment will be beneficial in whatever career they pursue. Musical appreciation is a lifetime journey and it is my utmost goal to share this passion with my students.
